Gariwald VIII

Gariwald VIII, also known as Gariwald the Contraption Chap, was/is Gary the Gadget Guy's great uncle and a paranormal investigator. He's a rich penguin who built a mansion for himself, which contained a ghost lab where he researched ectoplasmic phenomena. He went missing in his mansion one Halloween night, and it wasn't until Halloween 2012 that the mansion was rediscovered. As it turns out, Gariwald had turned himself into a ghost using the Ghostamatron 3000 in his lab. Gariwald may or may not be present on the island at any given time, but all known sightings of him have been at Halloween. Fortunately, he's friendly, unlike some of his fellow ghosts.
